春の海（The Sea in Spring) 宮城道雄（Michio Miyagi) -お箏のソロ（Koto Solo) at James Irvine Japanese Garden, JACCC

春の海は1930年の歌会始のお題「海辺の巖」にちなんで、、1929年末に作曲されました。 宮城は曲のモチーフとして、船で旅した瀬戸内海をイメージして描いています。 最初は、ゆるやかな波の感じで始まり、小舟に当たる小波の音や、カモメの鳴き声や、飛び交うさまを表現しています。   次に、テンポを速めて、勇ましく船を漕ぐ漁船が行き交うさまを描写しています。   そして最後は、又、のどかな春の気分に戻ります。  お琴と尺八の為に作曲されましたが、後にバイオリン、チェロなどと共に演奏されるようになりました。 お琴のソロバージョンです。 Haru no Umi  "The Sea in Spring “is Miyagi's best-known piece and one of the most famous for the koto and shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute) instruments.  Miyagi composed the music from his childhood image of the sea that he saw before he lost his eyesight.  First, it starts with the feeling of gentle waves, the sound of small waves hitting the small boat, cries of the seagulls etc. captured, flying around.   Next, the tempo gets faster, picturing the fishermen boldly maneuvering their fishing boats.    And then returning to the gentle feeling of the Sea in Spring. This is a kind of a new year song in Japan.  New year in Japan, we can hear this music everywhere.
